LIFE, WORK, and RELATIONSHIPS look different.

We are called to look different…

“Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed…” {Romans 12:2, ESV}

My journey to creating the on-line community SHE BELIEVES had many avenues leading to it’s inception. However, one question that has been pivotal in shaping so much of my faith journey, and the resounding purpose behind SHE BELIEVES, is, “do I really believe what I believe to be true?” and the second part of that question is, “if I believe what I believe is true, how should or could my life look different?

For instance…

If I believe the Truth that through Christ I have been filled with the whole fullness of the deity within my body….

“For in him the whole fullness of deity dwells bodily, and you have been filled in him, who is the head of all rule and authority.” {Colossians 2:9-10, ESV}

Then, with the belief that Christ lives in me, how much more power and strength to tackle my day should {or could} I walk in?

If I believe that God will complete all He has begun in me, and not just complete it, but completely complete all He is doing….

“I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.” {Philippians 1:6, ESV}

Then, how much more trust should I walk in when my life circumstances don’t move forward in a manner I think they should?

Does that make sense? So often I get tripped up in life because I forget to believe the truth that I know. I get swept up in my day’s activities and how I think it should play out, instead of trusting in the One I know works everything out for my good and His glory.

She BELIEVES for her life…

How I spend money, time, and resources are filtered through my faith.  I know that everything I have, from the most minuscule of resources to every breath I take, comes from God.  Because of that, I know the importance that God places on how I steward these things.  I try not to waste time, I’m purposeful with what I do and when.  Money is a blessing for me, and a resource for me to bless others. My firstfruits automatically go to the Lord, and the rest I seek Him for guidance. When I steward well all that the Lord has given me, then He gives me more spiritual blessings than I could ever imagine. Time stops, money grows, and wellness happens!

She BELIEVES for her work…

I work for the Lord, no longer motivated by the things of this world, but instead out of the knowledge and truth that I have been called to something greater.  When I work for God, everything I do has a heavenly purpose. My relationships at the office are meaningful. How I complete a task is resolute. When I’m asked to do something that feels beneath me, like cleaning the bathroom, I know that I am not cleaning because I’m less-than, I’m cleaning with a love that God has poured into my heart for the people that will use that bathroom. When I work as unto the Lord, my attitude towards work is most definitely rewarded with an abundance of JOY.  A joy that changes how I do all I do at work.

She BELIEVES for her relationships…

Friendship is a blessing! Family is a blessing! I approach relationships out of a spirit of thankfulness that stirs in me opportunities to pray for the people in my life.  Out of prayer comes action and intention from God to care and minister to the relationships in my life.  Not out of a desire for anything in return, but out of a pure love for each and every person in my life. A love that comes from the One who first loved me.  When I pray for my friends on a regular basis, my relationships grow deeper.  God brings opportunity and the ability to operate unified in community.

I think it’s so important to walk in the truth that we know. These are just a few brief examples of how my life looks different when I operate out of the truth I know, believing and trusting.  In everything, there is GRACE! Emphasized in all caps, because it is so important to not miss my point for this series. I don’t get it right all the time, in fact, I get it wrong a lot. But learning to walk in more trust in the truth I know has encouraged and sharpened my walk with the Lord in countless ways over the years.  It’s teaching and instilling tools for my everyday life so that I can walk in more truth, more often — especially, when the storms of life hit.

My hope is that this series, “Because I Believe,” will be an encouragement to you. I want to feature influential movers and shakers in our community who are walking by faith; allow them to encourage us in ways they have learned to walk out their beliefs! My desire is that this space will inspire you to walk with more faith that the truths of the Bible, and who God is, are really true! They are reliable and bankable for our everyday life. And when you walk in more belief of God, your life really is different! Your work is different! Your relationships are different!

I hope this has been encouraging.  If you know someone who could use a little extra encouragement to believe more whole heartily — Please share this post with them.  Invite them to come along in this SHE BELIEVES community to believing more for the Glory of God — let’s do this together!

You are a gift! And I’m praying for you today!
