MEMORIZE WITH US: First Timothy Three Fourteen & Fifteen

Each book of the bible has a least one to two key verses that generally summarize the purpose and the overall theme of that whole book.  Today, our memory verse tells us exactly why Paul wrote First Timothy and is the key verse for the book.

Note, when we memorize the key verse for a book of the bible it sets us up for greater understanding from the get go, we enter into the study of each book already knowing what the overall theme, purpose, and instruction of each book of the bible.

Paul’s purpose for writing to Timothy was to let him know how he should be leading the church and how all believers in the house of God should be living. First Timothy is a book of godly instruction for not only ministry leaders but really for all Christ followers. It is chalk full of helpful instruction that when applied to our lives, we are blessed with greater confidence of faith in our Lord, Jesus Christ!

Will you continue to join us in our journey through the book of First Timothy as we grow in confidence and learn how to better Stand Firm in our faith in a world full of distractions and opposition! Join us as we continue our Stand Firm study on Monday and let’s memorize together First Timothy’s key verse!…

“I hope to come to you soon, but I am writing these things to you so that, if I delay, you may know how one ought to behave in the household of God wich is the church of the living God.” {1 Timothy 3:14-15}

Join us every Sunday when we post a new verse for the week!

I hope you’ll join us each week as we memorize God’s Word together.  Memorizing scripture is one of the purest ways we are able to carry God’s Word with us wherever we go!  It puts His truth on our tongue, in our hearts, and encourages our souls all day long as we follow Christ.

Let's commit to getting crazy creative at memorizing God's word each week! Click To Tweet
  • Create a drawing or painting to help you remember the scripture.
  • Set the scripture to a familiar tune or jingle as a super fun way to remember those longer passages.
  • Write the passage out several times (remember elementary school punishment – “I will not…” x100 – It really does work!).
  • Write the passage on 3×5 note cards and place them next to your computer, on the dashboard of your car, and anywhere else you will see it often throughout your day.

Get creative with your memorization! Not only will this help you commit scripture to memory, it will be so incredibly rewarding when you can recite that scripture at the absolute perfect moment to encourage not only your own heart but bless your friends as well!

If you create something fun to help with this week’s memory verse challenge, be sure to post it and tag #SheBelieves so we can all see and be encouraged!

P.s. If this scripture encourages you, be sure to pass the encouragement along and share it with a friend!

    Hi BethAnn,

    Nice website. I’m wondering if there might be a type on your home page. It says, “We believe the Bible is God Breathed! {1 Timothy 3:16}.” Do you mean 2 Timothy instead of 1 Timothy for the verse referring to “God Breathed”?

    God bless!
